Music at Trinity

Trinity has a meaningful music ministry that carries with it a rich tradition.  We are blessed to offer five choirs:
Chancel Choir is Trinity’s wonderful, fun-loving adult choir.  This 20 member group provides musical leadership for the congregation during weekly worship and special services.  All who enjoy singing are welcome.  The ability to read music is not required, so why wait?  Chancel Choir meets from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the Music Room. (From Labor Day to Father's Day)
Jubilee Choir is the new name for our children’s choir for those singers in Grades 1 – 6.  The choir meets Sunday mornings following worship at 11:30 a.m. in the Music Room (September-May). This choir intentionally prepares children for participation in the worship service, helps them learn the place of music in the worship service, and teaches them to sing, all while opening to them the joy of song and praising God through music!
Trinity’s brand-new Cherub Choir entails children in the Pre-K – Kindergarten Sunday school class.  Dr. Jody meets with the Sunday school children in their classroom Sunday mornings from 9:00 – 9:15 to introduce children to the joy of singing to God.
The Trinity Ringers is for both the experienced and intermediate bell ringer alike, and is a wonderful way of experiencing the joy of glorifying God through the beauty (and fun) of English-style hand-bell ringing. This bell choir meets on Wednesday evenings from 6-7 pm in the Music Room (except during summer months)
The Music Ministry at Trinity is led by Dr. Jody Velloso.  Dr. Velloso has degrees in music from the University of Michigan, the University of North Carolina, and Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ.  She started working as a church musician more than twenty years ago and joined the staff of Trinity Presbyterian in January of 2014.  Dr. Velloso lives in Jamesburg with her organist husband, Shea Velloso and their daughters, Kathryn and Kerryn.
