Christian worship joyfully ascribes all praise and honor, glory and power to the triune God. In worship the people of God acknowledge God present in the world and in their lives. As they respond to God’s claim and redemptive action in Jesus Christ, believers are transformed and renewed. In worship, the faithful offer themselves to God and are equipped for God’s service in the world.”
– PCUSA Book of Order.
At Trinity, we gather every Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m. (summertime worship begins at 9:30 a.m.) to worship God with our praise, thanks, hopes, questions, and longings. While all children are whole-heartedly welcome within all of worship, childcare is available for those desiring it.
Our worship begins as we take time to welcome one another, and share news of significant events in the life of our community. Worship then flows into a prayerful dialogue with God through a variety of litanies, prayers, and music, before moving to the center of the service—God’s word to us in Scripture. This takes shape in meaningful, diverse ways: Scripture is read; choirs sing and ring; children gather for children’s messages; sermons are offered; dramas are performed; and prayer is shared.
Following God’s word, worship moves into a time of response—a pivotal part of worship. For our worship proves meaningful only as we strive to live out God’s will of life and truth and love. Our response to God is seen in the affirmations we make, the offerings we give, the prayers we lift up, the peace we share, the calls to mission we accept, and much more!
As we depart from worship, we go out into the world to serve God and neighbors, seeking to help extend the love, grace, and compassion of our amazing God.
