MISSION OUTREACH
Mission outreach at Trinity is a total congregational commitment involving many groups and individuals ranging from our youth to its senior citizens. Much of the congregational outreach focus occurs in its Mission Commission, which facilitates and/or coordinates hands-on activities and stewardship over earmarked funds for mission outreach. A sampling of our congregational activity follows. Each provides opportunity to participate as God has endowed your talents. Some ongoing projects include:
Trinity has prepared and served meals at Elijah's Promise Soup Kitchen for over 10 years. Join the 10-12 people who give to those in need - 2nd Wednesday each month. We either depart the Church parking lot at 4:30 PM in a car pool or meet at the Kitchen. There, we prepare the food and serve around 150 men, women and children. Call Bob Sullivan or see any member of Mission. Some of the Trinity volunteers enjoy a fellowship afterwards at a local diner.
Trinity and St. Bart's host a sing-along the third Friday at Sunrise Assisted Care, Summerhill Rd. (behind J.C. Penny) at 7 PM. Join us in a travel down memory lane as we sing favorite show tunes from the mid-20th century. Residents enjoy some refreshments and fellowship afterwards. We really need participants for this 90-minute program. Please join us - no special voice requirements needed. Contact Dottie Spengel.
The Mission Commission is collecting career clothing in new or gently used condition for donation to the New Brunswick based Hire Attire, a center that provides adult hands-on retails sales experience, combined with work related skills, diploma preparation, workplace readiness skills and job placement experience. Other organizations who provide job placement as well, issue scrip for purchase of the clothing at Hire Attire
Please help the clients of the many organizations gain employment in the work force.
Please call the Church Office or Bob Sullivan, 732-238-1749 if you have any suitable work clothing.
