CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Church School - Most Sundays 9 AM to 10 AM A one hour program is available for children, ages 3 years through 12th grade every Sunday morning (except the Sundays after the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's holidays and Easter Sunday) beginning in September through the beginning of June. There are also several special events involving the Church School throughout the year, such as fundraisers, pageants, mission activities, and intergenerational events.
The Church School hour starts with a 15-minute opening gathering for all registered students and teachers. This gathering includes singing and listening to contemporary Christian music, alternative instruction in the "ways and whys" of Presbyterians, upcoming events and projects announcements and general "wake up and talk to God" experiences. Students and teachers then proceed to their classrooms for 40 minutes of Bible instruction. All classes have a team of teachers who work in conjunction to provide a meaningful lesson in a safe and nurturing atmosphere in the classroom.
Confirmation Class - Most Sundays 9 AM to 10 AM Students in grades 9 through 12 are invited to attend this class, which runs the entire Church School year from September through June. "Journey to Discipleship" is the curriculum used. In addition to class time, which follows the Church School program mentioned above, each student is given certain other requirements to fulfill to round out the program. Such requirements may include attending a weekend retreat with Confirmation Students from other Presbyterian churches, attending Session meetings, planning and implementing a mission project and a worship service, writing an original statement of faith, etc. Confirmation class students are assigned adult mentors from the congregation to assist the students during their year of study. The actual day of Confirmation is fittingly held on Pentecost.
P.R.O.B.E. (Presbyterians Rounding Out Basic Education) Sunday 9 AM 10 AM All adults are invited to attend this forum in which Christian and contemporary issues are explored. Church members and guest speakers serve as discussion leaders. Occasionally specific Church School classes are invited to attend sessions that may involve something appropriate for them.
Presbyterian "Youth Connection" Sunday 6 PM to 7:30 PM Our Junior and Senior High "Youth Connection" meetings are for all students in grades six through eight (Junior High) and nine through 12 (Senior High). Junior High gatherings consist of active group games, singing praise songs, group discussions about Biblical, church and secular issues, watching videos and "hanging out," talking and having fun. Senior High sessions a
re similar, but when time allows separation, more mature in focus. There, talks have involved discussion about what it means to be a Christian in today's society, college, and conflicts that can arise within home, school and church life. There also are special events, such as fundraisers, retreats and mission trips.
Vacation Bible School Usually some time in August, a 5 day program is held for all Trinity children ages 3 years through 6th grade. Children outside of the Church family are also invited and encouraged to join us for a week filled with fun, crafts, Bible stories, music, worship and special goodies each day.
Presbyterian Camp And Conference Center at Johnsonburg Students entering third grade through high school are encouraged to attend a session at this wonderful camp in Northwestern New Jersey. Fees for this camp are quite reasonable, but there are still those who cannot afford it. Scholarship money from various sources is made available through a member of the Christian Education Commission. Johnsonburg also hosts other activities such as retreats for confirmation, junior & senior highs, etc.
Nursery Care/Fun With Friends - Sundays, during worship Nursery care is provided each Sunday during the entire worship service for children under three years old, but restless children may be taken to the nursery at any time during the worship experience.
The Fun with Friends program is a special addition program, which falls under the auspices of Trinity's nursery care system. Fun with Friends is for children over three years old, preschool or students in early grades that can't quite make it through an entire worship service. This group usually meets directly after our congregation's "Message for the Young," about halfway through the service.

Parents...now when you bring your child to our nursery, you will be handed a pager by our nursery staff! If a staff member needs you at any time while you are in our building, or if there's an emergency, the pager will alert you by making a "buzzing" sound, alerting you to come to the nursery care area of our church school.
